I’m very sad because I couldn't participate last week at 12 Weeks of Christmas Cookies. I'm so busy, mostly because is already Christmas at my business and the elfos are working a lot to deliver lots of goodies to our clients!

Besides the business, the classes, trips and sadly a ill problem at the family. It's not beeing easy! But life goes on and this blog make me happy everyday! And the combination of cookies, cinnamon and chocolate makes me feel confort!
This recipe of Cinammon and Chocolate Heart Cookies is from a German book, borrowed me by my dear friend Marta. Marta is my classmate and makes delicious food, also a Kumquat jam, that she gave to all students last class.

I was so glad with my gift that I used it at this recipe (that calls for apricot jam) and the result was awesome!

Here is the recipe:

Cinammon and Chocolate Heart Cookies:

200g all purpose flour
1 egg
75g butter
75g sugar
1 TS cocoa powder
1/2 TS cinnamon
1 TS vanilla sugar
100g apricot jam (Iused Kumquat jam)
150g compund chocolate

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
Combine flour, cocoa, cinnamon and vanilla sugar. Beat together the butter and the sugar untill creamy. Add the egg and mix well. Gradually beat in flour mixture.
Roll out dough on floured surface 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. Cut into shapes with heart cookie cutter. Place cookies 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 10 minutes in preheated oven. Mix jam with 1 ts cold water.
While still warm, with a cullinary brush, brush the jam on cookies surface. Cool completely.
Melt the chocolate and drop half of each cookie in chocolate.
Let it cool on wax paper.
About 45 cookies.

These sound divine. I love cinnamon and chocolate. It's not a combo you'd expect to go so well together, but it does!
